Install on a till

Takes about ten minutes and only needs doing once per till. After that, the till appears on the iPad automatically.

Get the extension

Enter the install password. If you don’t have it, ask whoever set up the display.

Steps

  1. 1On the bar terminal itself, not your own laptop, download the file above.
  2. 2Double-click the zip to unpack it, then move the tgbc-live-order-display-0.3.0 folder into Documents. Don’t leave it in Downloads.
  3. 3Copy chrome://extensions and paste it into Chrome’s address bar.
  4. 4Turn on Developer mode (switch in the top right).
  5. 5Click Load unpacked.
  6. 6Pick the tgbc-live-order-display-0.3.0 folder you moved in step 2. Not the zip.
  7. 7In Sapaad, open the walk-in or dine-in order screen. A beer icon appears in the Chrome toolbar.

Check it worked

Click the beer icon. It should say Connected. If it says Waiting for Sapaad, reload the Sapaad tab.

Then on the iPad, open the display and tap the till. If it isn’t listed, check the diagnostics page.

Two things to know

  • Leave the folder where it is. Chrome runs the extension straight from it, so moving or deleting it takes the till off the display.
  • If Chrome asks to “disable developer mode extensions” when it starts, close the message with the ✕. Clicking Disable turns the display off.
